Austin Ashby - IL Association FFA State Vice President
Austin Ashby, from the West Carroll FFA chapter, is the 2008-2009 Illinois State FFA Vice President. He is the son of Jim and Lisa Ashby, and has one older sister, Sara. His FFA advisors are Mr. Dan Hartman and Mr. Don Mathey. Austin has served as the West Carroll FFA chapter president and vice-president, the Section 2 FFA sentinel and vice-president, and the Section 1 FFA president. Austin’s supervised agricultural experiences include: beef production placement, crop production placement, hay forage placement, and turfgrass management. Throughout his FFA career Austin has earned several awards and achievements and his favorite career development events include: parliamentary procedure, where he was the 1st place floor member at the state contest his senior year, land use contest, and livestock judging. Austin’s favorite FFA events to attend are the state and national FFA conventions and the Illinois FFA leadership camp. After retiring as the state vice president Austin plans to attend Blackhawk community college for two years and then transferring to the University of Illinois majoring in agricultural business.
